There are several options available for registration this year. Please note that the following documents are required for all new players: Hockey Registration Form; a copy of player’s Birth Certificate and AB Health Care; copy of current community league membership; and proof of residency (ie. driver’s license or utility bill) A Community League membership for the 2010/11 year is also mandatory for all Federation hockey players. Cash & cheques are all accepted and cheques may be post dated to August 1st. Returning players will receive an pre-processed registration form in the mail.

RIVERVIEW COMMUNITY HOCKEY PROGRAM

The hockey season is well underway and the Riverview Community Hockey Program has formed three teams with kids from Crestwood, Parkview and Laurier Heights. This hockey program is unique in that the kids are grouped according to friend requests, and then the team, not the child is tiered. This approach ensures that friends can play together at the early levels of hockey.

Hockey registration for the next season will be Friday, June 4th from
6 – 9pm and Saturday, June 5th from 10am – 1pm at Centennial School
(17420 – 57 avenue)

SKATING AT THE MATTHAN QUINCE MEMORIAL RINK

The Laurier Heights Community League has three outdoor rinks and change room facilities located at 14405 – 85 Ave. This year the large rink has changed location and is setupon the tennis court. A liner has been purchased and will be placed over the tennis court before any ice is made to protect the surface. The change in location is necessary to keep skaters off the ice after hours when the ice is being resurfaced. Over the past few years the ice has been ruined on numerous occasions by late night visitors who skate on the wet ice.

All three rinks are open to community league members - please remember to have current skate tags on your skates. The building will be open for the following hours of operation:

Friday night is for Family Skating. Families are invited to come out and enjoy an evening of skating on the big rink. No Hockey for the first hour!
There’s also hot chocolate for kids of all ages!
